image.jpgDennis and Andy attended the ORSA AGM 2010 in Auckland last weekend.

The lads had a great time meeting and mingling with bears and bearettes from all over Australia and NZ.  Apart from the good company, great tunes and excellent entertainment there was some formal business also attended to which has some good news for Brisbane RSC. Andy McKnight was voted on as ORSA secretary until 2012, Gary Love was voted in as ORSA rep for Queensland and Kim Nelson will take up the post of ORSA Webmaster.

Brisbane RSC continues to be active in ensuring that all bears in the ORSA region have a voice at Ibrox and its a credit to the club that they've been considered for these roles.

On behalf of all of Brisbane RSC, we wish them well in their roles and hope that they can move forward with the mandate set by the ORSA membership.  A copy of the ORSA AGM minutes will be circulated shortly detailing the motions passed as a mandate for the ORSA committee.  A short summary will be sent to the RSC members with the key points.

They say every picture tells it's own story and by the looks of these everyone enjoyed Saturday night - a few pics and clips for your viewing pleasure. Check out those fa fa fina's and the amazing Flute Band and Raratonga drummers mash up!

Following the success of the recent six-a-side football tournament and requests from several members Brisbane RSC are looking to start,  early next year, a monthly kickabout between members and friends no matter what level your skills or fitness is at.

This would be an opportunity to get together with mates and improve your general football skills, as well as providing that little extra exercise.

A monthly event was suggested to initially allow us to see how the interest and willingness develops to arrange fixtures more often. This monthly fixture will also allow us to try out different venues around Brisbane to see which suits all participants better.

If you are interested in taking part in such a kickabout then please send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and give us your details and details of any friends who may be interested. Also if you can let us know of any venues in your area that may be suitable, then we can look into those. We can then see if we have enough interest to try and get something organised.
