The news and pictures are terrible and our hearts go out to all those who've experienced flooding. The Premier's advice is to help family and friends first where safe to do so. The Queensland Police Service facebook page is a great source of upto date information: http://www.facebook.com/QueenslandPolice
I went to Council's Carindale office this morning and clean up plans are being prepared, contact centre well staffed and doing a great job with some also taking SES calls. Police advice is to please stay off the roads and out the water unless necessary. Lord Mayor to make announcement this arvo on clean up plans.
For familiy and friends in the UK, the TV news says no Brisbane lives lost so everyone is safe even if properties may be water damaged. The power is off in lots of places and phones may be switched off to save batteries. People may be cut off for the next few days so please be patient if your waiting for news. If your interstate or overseas and want to help please donate to the Premier's flood appeal at http://www.qld.gov.au/floods/donate.html
Some hard days and weeks ahead for lots of people and our prayers are with you!
